The land behind the stay
We are an 700-acre regenerative ranch in the hills near Nosara, Costa Rica.
The farm provides food for the kitchen to cook our meals, the nursery provides the plants that reforest the land, and the accommodations and amenities provide the space for you to participate in it all.

01 / 11 · Your private or shared casita
Your casita is built into the hillside with a stargazing net, your own attached outdoor shower, and a view that looks straight down the valley.
You fall asleep to the forest and wake up to the light coming over the ridge. Private casitas have one bed, shared casitas have two twins.
02 / 11 · Breakfast, lunch, and dinner
Three meals a day, cooked for you by the kitchen team. Most of what reaches the table was grown here; the rest comes from growers around us in Nosara.
All three are included in your stay. Nothing to order, nothing to plan, no bill at the end of the week. You sit down at one long table with everyone else, and that is where the cohort actually forms.
03 / 11 · The coworking center
High-speed Starlink in an air-conditioned space, with a harvest table, lounge seating, a siesta loft, and a quiet deck under the mango trees. Other people doing their own work beside you. Keep the job and the hours, change the view.
Signal reaches other spots around the property too, so you can take the laptop outside and work under the trees instead. Some casitas get signal as well. Ask the team once you are accepted whether yours does.
04 / 11 · People who hold the place
A team lives and works here that knows how to grow, build, cook, host, and repair. They are the reason the farm runs, the kitchen puts three meals on the table, and the place keeps being built.
Once you are accepted you get a named point of contact rather than a shared inbox. They help with flights, getting up the hill from Nosara, and what to actually bring. A cohort WhatsApp group opens about a week before you land, so you have met the group before you arrive.
While you are here they are who you ask. Where the internet reaches, where to be for the sunset, how to get into town, what is happening tomorrow. A guest app carries the daily schedule, the menu, and the property map, and the rest is a conversation.
05 / 11 · The farm is already running
The farm is already running when you arrive. It is 100% optional to participate, but the opportunity is there if you want to.
You can go out to the field to harvest fresh fruits, vegetables, and eggs. You can turn your week’s produce into vinegars, ferments, teas, and preserves.
You can do the farm tour to see a bird’s eye view of how everything works. You can go plant trees and learn how we reforest the land. You can build structures with bahareque, earth and bamboo, using natural paints to make murals and polished-earth dorodango.
06 / 11 · Two places to move
An air-conditioned studio with mats, yoga blocks, and a punching bag. Yours whenever you want it, whether that is a class, a session with the group, or twenty minutes alone before anyone else is up.
The maloca is a world-class bamboo structure open to the air. Movement in the morning, workshops in the afternoon, and gatherings under the stars at night. Residents host their own sessions there.
07 / 11 · Cacao, coffee, and cold-pressed
The juice bar is the other place people end up working. A cosy outdoor cafe with a terrace and seating, house-made cacao, organic Costa Rican coffee, fresh juice, and snacks after the morning activities.
08 / 11 · Cut into the hillside
A saltwater pool cut into the hillside, looking out over the valley. It is where the day slows down: between the last call of the morning and lunch, and again before the sun goes.
09 / 11 · Every evening, and out on the trails
Sunset is the reason people stop working at six. Ask anyone on the team where to be and when.
After dark there are two fire pits for the nights that go long. Not every night, and worth staying up for.
Trails run through the forest to waterfalls and lookouts, with howler monkeys overhead and the coast in the distance. Go out before breakfast, or take an afternoon and make a day of it.
10 / 11 · Arranged by the team
Nosara and the beach at Guiones are fifteen minutes down the hill. Markets, cafes, and the surf town everyone comes here for.
Eight hundred acres is more than you can walk, so take an ATV out across the land to the ridges and the far pastures. Down at the coast there is surf, horseback riding, snorkelling, and kayaking through the mangroves.
The team arranges all of it.
11 / 11 · What you bring
Every cohort turns out to have someone with a thing. A breathwork practice, a way with sourdough, ten years of something most people only read about. The maloca is open and the group is small enough that offering to share it is not a production. Teach a class, host a conversation, cook a meal, lead a workshop. Or say nothing, turn up for someone else’s, and participate as quietly as you need to. Both are the point, and it is usually the part people remember.

Four steps. You apply, which takes about five minutes: who you are, when you want to come, and how long you want to stay. A person reads every application properly, because we keep each cohort small and balanced rather than taking bookings first come, first served. Applying is not an instant booking. If the dates, the room, and the experience look like a fit, the team comes back to you about all three, and about payment. Once you are accepted you get a named contact, one person rather than a shared inbox, who helps with flights, the drive up from Nosara, and what to bring, right up to arrival.
No. There is a light rhythm, shared meals, and optional activities, but no fixed curriculum to complete. You keep your own work, rest, and creative time.
No. Farm activities are an invitation, not a volunteer exchange and not payment for your stay. Join the things that genuinely interest you.
Yes. The stay is designed to leave room for a normal remote schedule, with reliable internet and dedicated places to work.
Only a few things hold every day. Breakfast is at eight, lunch at twelve, and dinner at six, all eaten together at one long table. There is an optional movement practice at seven in the morning, and people stop for the sunset around five. Everything else is yours: roughly nine hours of open time across the day, which residents spend on their own work, in the coworking centre, out on the farm, at the pool, on the trails, or down in Nosara. Nothing between the meals is scheduled unless someone in the cohort schedules it.
The casitas are comfortable and intentionally close to nature. Expect uneven outdoor paths, insects and weather, shared washing areas, dry toilets, and outdoor showers. It is beautiful, but it is not sealed off from the land.
The standard residency is two weeks, with one-week and longer stays available when the dates and rooms allow. The current application lets you share your preferred length.
