Eight hundred acres cleared for cattle decades before we arrived. What grows here now is what happens when you stop grazing land and start feeding it.

Why we grow what we grow

The soil decides first

TODO(javi): the real reasoning. The shape of the answer: degraded pasture cannot grow vegetables straight away, so the first crops are the ones that rebuild the soil rather than the ones that sell best. Nitrogen fixers, deep-rooted species, and trees that make shade for everything planted after them.

TODO(javi): what came second, and what that made possible. This is where the sequence becomes concrete - which species went in first, what they changed, and what could be planted once they had.

TODO(javi): what the farm feeds now. Residents, neighbours, the Friday table, and the soil itself through the biofactory.
