Executive Assistant to the Founder

We are seeking a highly organized assistant to work with our Founder and General Manager on a full time basis in Nosara, Costa Rica. Apply by December 31st, 2023.

The Opportunity

Tierramor is currently seeking an Executive Assistant to work hand in hand with the Founder and Tierramor’s General Manager, who are both based in Nosara, Costa Rica.


The ideal candidate for this job will be someone who is a highly strategic worker who is able to take various tasks off the Founder and GM’s plate. Attention to detail, proactivity, organization, and efficiency are all key to this role. 


This person should be an excellent communicator and have strong writing skills. The EA will be responsible for various research tasks and regularly communicating with clients, vendors, and other Tierramor staff.


Tierramor is a project which is currently being developed on 140 hectares of land outside of Nosara. The project is composed of a permaculture research center, retreat center and in the near future a burgeoning community. The developing nature of this project means that there is a myriad of things to be done, and avenues to explore in order to bring the vision of Tierramor to life in the best way possible. The Executive Assistant to the Founder will be responsible for supporting the Founder, both in relation to his Tierramor work, as well in his other professional and personal responsibilities. 


The Assistant should be actively managing every hour of the founders’ time and pro-actively engaging with the General Manager’s time. Applicant needs to be a google calendar ninja. 


Core Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:


  • Supporting the Founder in Meetings: Scheduling and organizing meetings, attending meetings and taking notes, preparing for meetings which may include research, ensuring that the Founder is well prepared for meetings;
  • Managing the Tierramor website (via WordPress);
  • Providing Scheduling Support: Maintaining and organizing the Founder’s calendar, schedule, and emails and presenting him with a daily overview of his tasks and appointments in order of priority;
  • Supporting the Events/ operations/ accounting team at Tierramor with contract facilitation and file management;
  • Providing Communications and Logistical Support: sending emails and making calls, organizing events, researching options for vendors, obtaining quotes for specialized items;
  • Responding to enquires: replying to emails, taking calls as appropriate;
  • Drafting correspondence such as emails and letters;
  • Liaising with clients, vendors, suppliers, and other staff;
  • Project Management: Managing personal projects from conception to completion. Overseeing all of the relevant details of each project and ensuring that all vendors are on time, budget and that the project is completed in a timely and well orchestrated manner.
  • Driving Founders’ kids to school 3 days a week.

Other (less frequent) responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:


  • Providing additional administrative support upon request of the Founder: data capturing, translation, or transcribing;
  • Supporting Travel arrangements: Researching accommodation and itinerary options, presenting appropriate options to the Founder, booking accommodation, flights, and making other travel-related arrangements;
  • Assisting with administrative and other tasks as delegated by Founder;
  • Managing photos, files and other organizational documents for Tierramor.

  • Flexible fast learner

  • 4wd/ Quad Transportation or excellent skills on a motorcycle

  • Excellent organizational and coordination skills

  • Computer Proficiency (WordPress/ Google office/ Canva/ Clickup)
  • Willingness to learn new skills 
  • High level of proficiency in English & Spanish

Education and Professional Background

  • Relevant Educational background
  • At least two years of related professional work experience required 
  • Experience in a similar position preferred

Some of the areas of Tierramor’s work are permaculture, natural building, sustainability, meditation & yoga. Interest in or knowledge of these areas will likely be useful in this role but is not required. 


Remuneration: Salary dependent on skills, experience, qualifications.


This is a full time position based in Nosara, Costa Rica. 


Working hours: 7:30am – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday [CR time]

  • Is it possible to visit Tierramor or stay short term?

    Yes! Our Events Calendar is up to date with upcoming retreats, events & workshops.

    We will have additional lodging options available in the future. Tierramor will also be hosting approximately four Open Days a year. Please sign up to our newsletter to stay up to date with this.

  • How many people live in the community and how can I join?

    Tierramor is able to comfortably accommodate 30+ people. We anticipate between 10 and 30 people living in the community at any given time. At the moment, 10 people living on site are dedicating the majority of their energy to working on developing the project.

  • What types of activities are on offer?

    As a retreat center and a burgeoning community, Tierramor offers a variety of week-long retreats, day events and workshops throughout the year. As part of the Community Immersion, all community members will have free access to daily yoga, meditation, dance, and other embodiments practices and can offer to facilitate and share their own practice with the community.

  • What is the food like?

    Most of the food is vegetarian, and vegans can be accommodated. We aim to have as much local and organic food as possible.

  • What is the internet like?

    All communal areas have internet. Tierramor has also built a dedicated lounge-like co-working space on the land, which is accessible to all community members. The internet is excellent and we hope to install high speed internet soon as well.

  • What is your children policy?

    Right now we are open to adults only. Children are welcome to attend specific day events only. As Tierramor continues to grow and evolve, this may change.

  • Can I bring my car and what are the roads like?

    If you are renting or bringing your own car, make sure you are driving a four-wheel drive (4x4). The majority of roads are unpaved, dirt roads and require a specialized car. You will be able to safely park your vehicle in the designated parking areas at Tierramor.

  • How do I get to Tierramor?

    You can drive, or take a taxi service from Nosara.

    1. Type into GPS the following address: Mini Super Y Licores Río Montaña, located in the mango grove area between Nosara and Ostional.

    2. Once there, turn into the road towards the mountains which is next to the Mini super Y licores.

    3. Head straight for about 0.5 km until you reach a T junction. There will be a river on your right and a road on your left. Go left and follow the road for another mile.

    4. You will pass through a teak forest, go over a small bridge and a 2.5 mile dirt road up the hill will take you to Tierramor.

    5. You will see signs along the way and a member of our team will meet you up top to help with parking.

  • How far out of town is Tierramor?

    We are located outside of Nosara in the Rio Montana area.

    The easiest way to get into town is by car (4x4 necessary) which takes around ~25 minutes in the dry season. The roads can be really bad in the wet season, which makes this a longer and more challenging trip.

  • How far is the beach from Tierramor?

  • Which are the best months to come?

    The Dry Season, which extends from November to April, coincides with the peak tourist season. During these months, camping and casita accommodations are at their prime, and it is generally the most enjoyable time to stay at Tierramor. Please note March and April are the hottest months in the Guanacaste region.

    The Green Season is exceptionally stunning but can present more challenges, including occasional power and internet outages, heavy rainfall, and difficult road conditions, primarily in the months of August through October. 

    The weather is greatly influenced by the annual climate patterns.
